This month, we’re proud to announce that our organization has earned a 2021 GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency and a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator—two of the highest achievement distinctions a charitable organization can receive.

We at the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics are thrilled that through our programs, more patients across the country may gain access to the healthcare resources we’re committed to providing to the nation’s most vulnerable—from the under-insured to the uninsured.
Through the credibility and high-quality distinction granted to our organization by the GuideStar Platinum and Charity Navigator 4-star ratings, we hope that more patients will have the opportunity to become informed about their healthcare options and donors will feel confident in supporting our work through the insight provided into our strategy, metrics, and achievements.
The Guidestar Platinum Seal of Transparency
In 2013, the GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency was introduced to answer some of the most important questions donors and resource recipients have about charitable organizations like NAFC: Whom are nonprofits serving with their programs? How do these organizations consider impact measurement? What are the stories behind the people that run them?
These questions reveal the driving force behind the work we do. They also reveal why we’re committed to helping the nation’s underserved gain access to the healthcare resources they need to live healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives.
The GuideStar Seal of Transparency provides answers to these questions to the people in need of them most, while also providing hundreds of thousands of patients across the nation with information about our organizations that can help individuals gain access to more affordable healthcare resources.
For these reasons and more, NAFC is proud to have earned the most widely adopted symbol of transparency in the American social sector today.
The Charity Navigator 4-Star Rating
Thanks to the resources and information provided by the Charity Navigator rating system, donors across the country are enabled to make more informed decisions about the organizational efforts they choose to support.
Through the visibility granted by the achievement of a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the nation’s leading charity evaluator, organizations are able to enact more meaningful change within the social sector and in communities across the country.
According to Charity Navigator, a 4-star rating achievement provides individuals with clear, objective, and reliable assessments of both the financial health and transparency of charities—factors that serve as the foundation of an organization’s ability to facilitate and promote long-term and sustained healing amongst the populations in most need of their services.
With our Charity Navigator 4-star rating, NAFC is excited not only to prove our financial health and transparency to those who support our organization, but to continue our work in providing the nation’s medically underserved with the healthcare resources that all too often remain just out of reach.
