The National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (NAFC) and Henry Schein Medical, the U.S. medical business of Henry Schein, Inc. (Nasdaq: HSIC), will provide much-needed diabetic and cardiovascular disease testing supplies to the medically underserved throughout the country this #GivingTuesday.

Donations can be made at www.nafcclinics.org, or through the NAFC Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/NAFCClinics – where donations will also be matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Occurring this year on November 28, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It is designed to inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support. In 2016, the fifth year of #GivingTuesday, millions of people in 98 countries came together to give back and support the causes they believe in. More than $177 million was raised online to benefit a tremendously broad range of organizations, and much more was given in volunteer hours, donations of food and clothing, and acts of kindness.
This #GivingTuesday, Henry Schein Medical – with the help of PTS Diagnostics and Trividia Health – has committed to donate $4,500 worth of supplies to the NAFC for their patients. The NAFC encourages donors to match Henry Schein’s generosity by making a donation today.
“We at Henry Schein are pleased to support NAFC in its efforts to provide high-quality care to patients in need across the U.S., and we are honored to work with an organization that shares our commitment to expanding access to care for the people and communities who need it most,” said Brad Connett, President, Commercial Group, U.S. Medical, Henry Schein. “This donation exemplifies the Henry Schein Cares spirit, and it is rewarding to work with NAFC as we ‘help health happen’ together.’”
“The NAFC is thankful to have a supporter like Henry Schein Medical that recognizes the crucial work being done at Free and Charitable Clinics throughout the country to provide much needed health care to the medically underserved,” said NAFC Chief Executive Officer Nicole Lamoureux. “We ask for donations to the NAFC this #GivingTuesday to make this product donation from Henry Schein Medical a reality for our patients, just as our members make access to health care a reality for millions of people across the nation.”
Sharing support of the NAFC on social media is being encouraged by using several hashtags to post why people #believeincaring about the medically underserved throughout the country and encouraging others to #Give4Health this #GivingTuesday.
