As the world continues to navigate an increasingly tumultuous decade, the concept of generosity – of giving, receiving, and connecting – is evermore important.

Each individual holds the ability to use generosity in ways that make a difference in the world, whether through the donation of financial support, time, kindness, skills, or advocacy. Through GivingTuesday, people across the globe come together in this shared goal.

WHAT IS GIVINGTUESDAY?

In 2012, GivingTuesday was first conceived as a simple concept: a day to inspire good deeds among and between individuals. Hundreds of millions of people throughout the world have been inspired to donate, cooperate, and celebrate the joy of giving ever since.

For more than a decade, GivingTuesday has served countless industries in their efforts to serve communities across the globe – a worldwide movement of giving that seeks to unleash the power of a generous spirit through a collective opportunity for individuals everywhere to join together in an effort to strengthen their communities and uplift those in need.

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED WITH THE GLOBAL GENEROSITY MOVEMENT

The premise behind GivingTuesday is simple. Every act of generosity counts, and every person has something to contribute. It’s never too late to get involved – in fact, you don’t even have to wait until GivingTuesday to start making a difference in your community and the world at large.

At NAFC, the work we do is consistently inspired by the drive to provide for the nation’s medically underserved. Across the country, Free and Charitable Clinics and Pharmacies have been on the frontlines throughout the course of the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, and they continue to support the 2 million people who seek healthcare each year, as well as the close to 200,000 volunteers who help make the work we do at NAFC and our member organizations possible.

Below are a few ways you can get involved in the fight to provide healthcare resources to those in need of it most this GivingTuesday and always:

The fight to support the nation’s medically underserved is never over, and there are countless ways to get involved. In addition to donating, the support provided by volunteers serves as the backbone behind the work we do at NAFC and our clinics throughout the country.

Donate to your local Free or Charitable Clinic and/or learn about any volunteer opportunities in your community by finding an organization near you by using the NAFC Find a Clinic tool this GivingTuesday.
