Change was the theme of the 2016 Presidential election. After the election, there are some people jubilant with the result and there are some that are heartbroken. The change each side expected is either not coming or not here yet.
No matter our party affiliation, we can all agree that we want our children to be healthy, we can all agree that waking up with the flu is awful, we can all agree that a cancer diagnosis is terrifying and we can all agree that no one should go bankrupt or without health care because it is too expensive and not accessible.
As the country begins to heal, we can all be a positive change in this world through our actions and our words. I invite you to show how you #believeincaring by partnering with the National Association of Free & Charitable Clinics (NAFC) and our member clinics to help us build a healthy America, one person at a time.
If you were team #imwithher and you believe that health care should be a right and not a privilege, then I invite you to join us in working to make health care accessible and affordable for all people and to exemplify what Secretary Clinton stated in her concession speech - that "fighting for what's right is worth it."
If you were team #makeamericagreatagain and you believe that the rising cost of medications and health care premiums has to stop, then I ask you to stand with the NAFC and together we can do as President-elect Trump asked and "bind the wounds of division."
We ask everyone on both sides of the aisle to join the NAFC and through your words and actions, through volunteering and through donating, help us ensure that the medically underserved have access to affordable, quality health care.
Through the years, our clinics have worked tirelessly to change and respond to the health care needs in their communities, without federal funding and through volunteerism. Our clinics are comprised of and serve every race, religion, gender, sexual orientation and political party.
Join us today and share your voice by volunteering with or donating to the NAFC or one of our members found in communities across the nation. Together, we can make a positive change and we can show the world how we #believeincaring.
