This week (April 15 - 20th) is Volunteer Appreciation Week!
This is a very special time designated to thank volunteers. There are not enough words to describe how amazed and grateful I am for the dedication, compassion and generosity of the 14,000 individuals who have given of themselves to the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics and our C.A.R.E. (Communities Are Responding Everyday) Clinics.
These C.A.R.E. Clinics would not be possible without the donation of funds and time from you, our “Army of Red Shirts” who have seen the plight of the underserved and have decided to help your neighbors who do not have access to health care. You, our dedicated and compassionate volunteers, have decided to not only “talk the talk” but also “walk the walk” and give of yourselves in a most precious way, your time.
Without your support, we would not have had the opportunity to provide health care to almost 15,000 individuals who had nowhere else to turn. Without your help, we would not have been able to prevent seven suicides, or connect our patients to community resources to continue the care they received at the C.A.R.E. Clinic. Without you, none of the work we do would be possible!
We also want to recognize the amazing work and commitment of those volunteers that give their time to help their neighbors by volunteering at their local community clinic. Our clinics provide much needed care to the underserved throughout the nation each day, and this could not be done without such incredible volunteer support.
On behalf of our Board, our members, and our patients, I would like to say thank you for your unwavering support and generosity. We continue to work daily to support Free and Charitable Clinics, and to provide health care services to the underserved. We truly appreciate that you have joined us in this journey.
On a more personal note, I would like to thank you for being my inspiration and for helping us actually change the world, one patient at a time. My life has forever been changed because of the time I have spent with you, and I am a better person because you decided to give back to your fellow man. I will never be able to fully express my gratitude to you, but please know from the bottom of my heart how much I appreciate and respect each and every one of you.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and caring.
